Knowing who we are, by how we show up

As a Community Interest Company i.e. a Social Enterprise, who we are and how we show up are as important as what we do. To find out more about how we safe guard our practice please go to the members page.

As a Community Interest Company our mission is to:

“Facilitate personal learning and (re)generative relationships to enhance the wellbeing of people of all ages, everywhere we (PIAC members) are. We do this by resourcing PIA members to co-create PIA projects in the places we live and work, extending learning opportunities to people with least access.”

With these intentions, and as members of this community-in-practice, we recognise how important it is to practice our practice. We each personally commit to embracing core community behaviours that are coherent with all we stand for and want to bring into the world:

  • Safeguard my own trustworthiness.

  • Engage in Presence in Action.

  • Act for the wellbeing of my Self, my relational realm and our wider world.

  • Engage with courage, curiosity and caritas

  • Follow through on promises.

  • Make more of what I and we have.

  • Share with, and invite others.

As such we are proud to be a Professional Body for those wishing to work with clients.

Our sufficiency principle

We work on the basis that as contributors ‘Enough equals Enough’

E = E:Cos.

This conveys the essence of the ‘sufficiency principle’ that underpins the way we do business.

Clients and PIA practitioners are contributors – each benefiting each other and also those we support beyond the financial transactions that flow between us.

25% of every contract supports the running of PIAC which in turn serves our member base.

Members support each other through peer practice within and between Community-in-Practice gatherings through reciprocal PIA hosting.

By working in a Presence in Action Learning Ecosystem (PALE) practitioners engage in our continuing apprenticeship learning process. They extend their learning by stepping forward as Hosts and Practice Partners to support each others in PIA events.

All of us extend our voluntary support into our families, friendship groups and wider communities in implicit and explicit ways.

We offer bursaries to members on an ongoing basis. This bank of fee-free contribution in exchange for learning amongst PIA practitioners is the bedrock of our mutually inclusional generative learning approach.

When bursary funds allow, PIAC supports community-based interventions by invitation.
